It depends! Sometimes this is a great idea (when you are otherwise fit and healthy and have a simple problem – for instance a 50 year old person on minimal medication needing a screening colonoscopy). Other times, this is not a good idea (if you have complicated medical problems). Your GP will almost certainly have made a determination about this, and given us a good indication on your referral about what is the right way to go. If you click the ‘I would prefer a procedure without attending an appointment’ box, then we will look at your referral and get back to you soon about whether we think that this is appropriate in your circumstances.
This is a private billing practice, with a ‘no-gap’ policy. Exceptions are made in specific circumstances. Please see our page on billing policies.
